1. Health & Safety Policy
Is your health and safety policy current, signed and reviewed in the last 12 months?
Green looks like: Reviewed and approved by governors within the last year, with named responsibilities.
2. Fire Risk Assessment
Do you have a suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment with actions tracked to completion?
Green looks like: Assessed by a competent person, reviewed annually, with all significant findings closed out.

Are individual healthcare plans, allergy registers and medication handling up to date?

7. Training & Competence
Can you evidence health and safety training for all staff with duties, including refreshers?
Green looks like: A live training matrix with refresher dates and no overdue records.
8. Incident & Accident Reporting
Are accidents and near misses recorded, investigated and RIDDOR reported when required?
Green looks like: Central reporting system, investigations for significant events, trends reviewed termly.
9. Risk Assessment Management
Are your general and curriculum risk assessments current, accessible and understood by staff?
Green looks like: All risk assessments reviewed within a year and shared with the staff who need them.
10. Governor Oversight
Do governors receive regular, independent health and safety assurance reporting?
Green looks like: Termly reporting to governors, with independent challenge at least annually.
